I thought you all might like to see this, I did an interview with Jim today.
Me: Alright. First question. If you could add up your American Idol experience in one sentence or word, what would it be?
Me: Do you have any regrets?
Jim: Except that I probably should have sung an uptempo song my last time around
Jim: I probably would still be in the competition if I did
Me: well that was kinda a hard theme to do.
Me: are you gonna try out for american idol 2?
Jim: Yeah, kind of...
Jim: LOL...I don't think I'll need to
Jim: I'm moving to Los Angeles in September
Me: haha, and are you going to continue with music?
Jim: To model and act, so I think I'll be alright
Jim: If a producer approaches me with an offer, then I'll definitely take it
Me: well you're very talented I'm sure someone will. Were you suprised that you made it into the top 10?
Jim: Yeah, very much so....
Me: is there anyone you were suprised didn't make it into the top ten?
Jim: Chris had a great audition that day, and I thought that he would have made it into the top ten before I would have....
Jim: I also thought Natalie would have made it too
Jim: Natalie and I were very close
Me: I personally liked her preformance. I voted for her too. Is there anyone that you feel like you've made a friend for live with, out of the top 10?
Jim: Ryan Starr, definitely
Jim: Tamyra Gray, and RJ Helton
Jim: I was close to everyone, but those three in particular
Me: Are you still going to watch the show and vote?
Jim: I will watch the show, but I won't vote, simply because I wouldn't know who to vote for because I love all of them, but I will continue to watch
Me: I understand, What do you think of Simon?
Jim: LOL....that's a tough one...me and him were close off of camera, but for some reason, he just wasn't a really big fan of me on camera
Me: Haha he's an interesting guy. Do you ever read the message boards?
Jim: Sometimes...I don't read them anymore though
Me: some people are really rude. They don't have anything better to do then insult people. How is it to see yourself on T.V.?
Jim: It's weird...I always think I look too fat, or too gross or something, you are your own worst critic, I guess...
Me: Aww, haha well you looked fine, you had a livejournal once, then popdirt.com spilled it out, did you get alot of comments from people?
Jim: Yeah, a few comments but I didn't really mind them. People are going to listen to what they want to, so it really didn't bother me
Me: Yeah.. What musical artists influence you?
Jim: Janet Jackson, John Mayer, Brandy...
Jim: Anyone that can withstand the constant changes of the record industry and still come up with a hit album every time
Me: hah John Mayer, he's awesome, they all are. Do you get regonized alot when you go out? and have you ever ran into any famous people that recognized you, I know AJ ran into Nick Carter and he recognized him. And Michael J Fox also said he was " American Idol's number 1 fan and that he loved everyone in the top ten" how does it feel knowing millions of people know who you are?
Jim: It's strange, it's so weird...like, this whole experience went so fast. Going from being a totally regular guy to someone on the cover of tv guide is insane. I like it a lot, but it was just too much too fast for me. It's a good feeling having millions of people know who you are, because someway somehow that's going to benefit your career...so I'm hoping that someone who has seen me will give me some kind of great offer I can attack
Me: Well hopefully we will be seeing much more of you in the future! and last question: what advice do you have for future american idol wannabe's and some last words for the fans.
Jim: Yes you will...my advice for wannabes, is keep auditioning, because this was my first major audition, and I went pretty far, so don't give up, keep singing, keep dancing, or acting, and do it. Don't stop because someone says you have NO talent...
Jim: Do it because YOU know YOU do
Jim: And for my fans: You've made my life worth living, and made me so happy...without you guys I would have been nothing on the show, and you proved to me that there are people out there who like my voice and like what I do. And for that, I can't be thankful enough...so thank you, you're all in my heart
Me: aww.dude, thank you so much for doing this interview it means alot and good luck in the future!
Jim: My pleasure
Me: alright, well thanks anyway and thank you for this interview!
Jim: No problem
